Jazz Vocalist
Kathy Farmer has been performing from the day she was born! Classically trained, with a passion for jazz and a wide-ranging repertoire, she sings the tunes from the golden age of jazz to the pop era and performs regularly at area music venues and private events. Kathy is 1/4 of the Kathy Farmer Quartet, 1/3 of The Pop Chicks, 1/2 of Hip Pocket, and 1/5 of the Accidental Red jazz band.

Singing is joy. I’ve run marathons—my knees remember every mile—so these days I hike and “hash” (yes, look it up). I love to sew (and I’m really good at it), knit, crochet, and read though time has other ideas. My college degrees have nothing to do with music and despite that, music consumes my life. I’m endlessly curious, driven to learn, and happily obsessed—no recovery plan in sight.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Kathy and her piano player provide live jazz for our Night to Shine Respite Room, and they were wonderful. This space was specifically for the caregivers and parents of our special needs prom guests, and their music set the perfect tone for the evening.
